What is Agro & Food Processing Subsidy?
Agro and food processing industries can access multiple subsidy layers: the central PMFME (PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises) scheme, PLI for Food Processing, and Gujarat's own Agro Industrial Policy with capital and interest subsidies for food processing units.
Who Qualifies?
- Micro food processing enterprises (turnover < ₹1 Cr) under PMFME
- Fruit and vegetable processing units
- Dairy, fisheries, spice, grain milling units
- FPO, SHG, and cooperative-linked food enterprises
Subsidy Quantum / Benefit
35% capital subsidy up to ₹10 Lakhs (PMFME); PLI incentives of 10% on incremental sales for eligible large processors. State scheme capital subsidy of 15–25%.
How to Apply
Apply on PMFME portal (mofpi.gov.in) for micro enterprises
Obtain loan from empanelled bank linked to PMFME
For PLI, apply through MOFPI's PLI application portal
Gujarat state scheme application via iPlus portal
Expected Timeline
PMFME subsidy released upon utilization of loan and CA certificate. State scheme 3–6 months.
